Volunteer / VOLUNTEERS Q&A
« on: January 13, 2013, 08:47:30 am »
Volunteers  are the people that help to make this convention a reality and to make it enjoyable for everybody.

Why Volunteer?
Well, you get free entry and one free-meal a day. And of course you get the satisifaction of having helped the convention out. We're always happy to provide references to people who work for us. Volunteering is also a very easy way to get to know other members of the con, and make new friends!

What Kind of Work is it?
Usually volunteers will help to manage queues, serve attendees, act as a runner to move equipment/items around and so forth. When you sign up as a volunteer, you are placed on to a team. Each team has a team-leader who you will report in to and who will look after you over the event. At times volunteering is far from easy, and it can be a lot of hard work but it is usually a very rewarding experience.

Benefits when volunteering with HobbyCon :

ㅇ Special Volunteer Tshirt
ㅇ HobbyCon Tshirt
ㅇ Post Event Dinner Celebration

and more~~!

VOLUNTEERS WILL NEED TO COMMIT FOR BOTH DAYS OF EVENT AND HELP OUT DURING THE SET UP AND TAKE-DOWN WHICH WILL TOOK PLACE A DAY BEFORE AND AFTER THE EVENT.

Events / Anime Boston Convention (3 Days)
« on: January 13, 2013, 06:30:53 am »
Anime Boston is a three-day convention held annually in Boston, Massachusetts, USA under the supervision of the New England Anime Society.

The main focus on Anime Boston has always been Japanese animation and comics, they also have expanded to include other aspects of Japanese pop-culture: J-Pop, J-Rock, and live-action Japanese media. Not forgetting Japanese history and traditional culture. Including other aspects of Japanese culture and society encourages people to develop a more well-rounded perspective.

For 2013 Anime Boston will be held on the 24th of May until 26th of May 2013.
The theme for this year's Anime Boston will be Tales of Yokai.
